If your PD was current, but they didn't give you a visa, that is a mistake. Why should someone report getting a visa is a mistake? He applied for the visa, he/she got it. Is it his/her job to watch USCIS? What future problems should he/she expect for getting a visa?
It is your choice but there were suggestions from attorneys that if GC is issued when PD is not current, it should be reported to USCIS to avoid future troubles. Search this forum for details. There were two threads disucssing this.

My friend, Who said its not a problem? in my earlier post I have provided a big laundry list of Line cutting measures in place are these not problems? BUT the point is , is it worth it a fight ? Subs is long gone, We are fighting for Country quota from a year + atleast and we are still at square one and the problems keep worsens. We all worry about subs where there is no action. F1 is not a scam. its legal visa. once u enter into usa on F1, u can stay here to study. while doing MS, u can also work on CPT legally. after completion of the MS degree, it is legal to stay on OPT and work. recently the US govt has increased the OPT period from 12 to 29 months. again its legal. its legal to apply for H1B while maintaining a proper F1 status or OPT.
People who dont like this.... dont either because they dont understand F1 very well, or just plainly speaking jealous or out of their mind.
i guess we should be happy if someone is making progress legally even if we are not in the same boat.:)

That validates my reply previously to a posting by a guy who said that he had called up TSC and they said they go by RD...I had asked him to call back after a day and he'd get totally opposite info.
My situation is the same.....I was TSC-CSC-TSC....but I had received an RFE last year.....dunno why will they preadjudicate and then go by ND which is totally non-sense...logic should be that if a case is preadjudicated it should be put on based on PD..
Again USCIS don't follow any logic...
As I said b4 very few transfer cases will ever get approved.....just bid your time...or apply thru EB1 chances are better that way..

First of all, It is funny that the guy who knowingly broke the law want help of law when he is victim. Now all of us know why laws are made in first place and why everyone should follow it.
Secondly, Beating the dead horse again, Thunderbolt should go to cops and give evidence of child abuse asap.
In terms of risking the case of hiring illegal for a job by going to the cops in my mind is a non issue. Because, he is exposed to that risk with or without going to cops himself. What if Nanny gets caught working illegal in some other home and she gives all names she worked for including thunderbolt. He has done a mistake and he should hire best attorney to plead that case if it ever comes up either by him reporting child abuse or some other way.

USCIS has done what britisher's did "DIVIDE AND RULE".
They have divided the whole GC process into various categories already.
First it is Employment/Family/lottery.
Then it is eb1/2/3 and so on
Then it is country wise quota.
I mostly see people from categories eb 2 and 3 fight over this issue.

Please stop using condescending remarks. I have been reading all your posts and your tone is going from bad to worst. It is not possible to place all the threads on the home page. We make a decision to put threads on the home page that we believe are important for our effort. If you feel otherwise, that is ok. But it is not ok for you to use derogatory language. If you feel so passionate, why don't you start your organization and spend your time, energy and resources and advocate for the cause instead of posting derogatory messages for others. It is very easy to fire when the gun is on someone else shoulder. We understand and share the frustration with green card delays, but that does not give you license to use derogatory language. Everyday there is new thread asking for update, leadership, direction etc. It is not practical to reply to every such post on this forum. That too does not give you license to use derogatory language. In last over 2.5 years we have answered many thousands questions in forums, emails and phone calls. I have heard many a times from my fellow team mates that not once did anyone receive a Thank you note from someone after that someone was fully able to resolve the situation after receiving reply from my colleagues at IV. None of us spend time on this cause to receive a Thank you note, however, posts like yours makes us wonder that are we a community of thankless educated immigrants who are so obsessed with our individual case that all that we want is instant gratification to exactly know the current status of our green cards, without which automatically IV is at fault. Just so that you know, people spend 30 sometimes 40 hours a week over the period of years, just to read a post from someone like you. We received a call at 12:30am yesterday from someone asking about changing to another company because his current employer was not being fair. So when you mock, please make it clear that you are not the one standing in the line of fire and you are not the one who wants to stand in the line of fire. You just wants to be the one to mock and ridicule. If you are serious about taking the baton, please let us know your phone number and we will post it on the website so that people can call you when they have a question. Lets talk about passing the baton, how about we start from posting your phone number on the website, lets see how you take that challenge. No one is paid to work on IV. People spend time on this effort out of their good-will and passion for the cause. So please be respectful towards others for their efforts. ALLOW EVERYONE TO FILE I485 SHOULD BE OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.
You people already have filed 485 and have EAD. EAD gives you so much freedom . It is as good as a green card.
What about people who are less fortunate and cannot file II485. We need to allow everyone to be on the same page first and enjoy EAD freedom.
That should be our priority before any country limits or this thread action item

Which USCIS Center did you go to. The best thing here would be that someone else also go to the same USCIS Center and can hopefully talk to the same IO officer. If she shows the memo again then we can get more information out of it.

Thanks for your suggestion. But the problem is its not that simple. Here is why. If the same individual create multiple IDs on IV and post using multiple IDs, one for posting derogatory comments and others that are not derogatory, we can keep mum to a point, but then it just gets too frustrating. Like in this case, madhuvj and GCStatus is the same person posting from the same machine but posting as if you are two different individuals. Hence my posts. Please stop this and email/pm us your phone number and we will start the transition process. We are sure you will do a better job than us.
You see, just like everyone else, we also have limited number of hours in a day. We can either spend our time looking at who is using multiple forum ids to post similar messages creating a false impression for other forum visitor, like the one projected in 'if i can be blunt' thread, or we can spend our time doing better things. Ok, been thru this also recently.
As these days your photo comes printed in the passport unlike those old days when they used to affix the photo with gum. Hence, the new size 3.5 cm because i think they scan it and computer prints it.
To answer your question, at NY the correct size is 3.5x3.5 cm.
However, they are accepting 2x2's as well, but the downside is the computer cuts it to 3.5x3.5 cm hence showing ONLY your face without a little bit of neck or shoulder. This photo does not look good, i have seen this happen with the same guy that i mentioned in the above therad.
I took both 3.5x3.5 and 2x2, they didn't care, but i gave them 3.5x3.5 as it was stressed in the NY webpage.

I was watching TV the other day and saw an infomercial from National Association of Realtors promoting some kind of reform for home finance. They had interesting stats like "Home ownerships contributes ~ 2 trillion USD towards nation economy. So anything that promotes home ownership should help economy come out of recession". I am thinking if we can gather some useful stats around how much NRIs (non-GC holders from US) have invested in Indian Real Estate and how much of that could have been invested here in US (and other numbers like these), and then use them to convince those in power that an expedited GC process for those who want to be a part of main stream US resident population would help US economy.

My 140 LUD is 08/05/2007 and was approved from SRC. I agree with EB3_Nepa on this. My guess is that recent updates in the LUD means that 485 is filed in the service center that did NOT process your 140.
