It took almost 4 1/2 years to get the labor certification and now its almost 17 months since my I-485 is pending approval. Took the path of writing to the FL, State Senator, Local Congressman and was fortunate to receive their response suggesting that its stuck in the namecheck stage and will have to wait for it to be completed. It has become a nightmare.... The only update in my case used to be whenever I initiate a service request. Now what is that which I can do to come out of this riddle....
Any suggestion in this regard is highly appreciated !!!!
Write to Mr. Bush (no kidding). They will send an inquiry to FBI and you will get something from FBI NNCP (name check division). If that does not help, file a lawsuit against USCIS/FBI. Or you can file a lawsuit first and then write a letter to save some time. The lawsuit will get things moving. The do-it-yourself guide is located here:

Lets not support this bill guys. The right way to stop mis-use of H1 or L1 by companies is to make it a free market for the "employees" in visa. Let them be able to work for "any employer". Do you think the L1 guy will let him be abused, if he was allowed to change employers easily. Lets not close the doors for others, lets have an open mind to for competition and equal human treatment. Also lets see what is best for USA.
Putting more restrictions on employer is never effective. Abusing employers will always find the loopholes, and the legitimate employers will be scared away. The effective way is to get the "visa employees" more freedom.

This is a great point. Even if we get one time relief,that should suffice because retro might not happen in the future as there will not be 245si/195kH1bs. I hope one of the core group members might want to look at this. This will atleast counteract the exaggerated and bloated immigration numbers by the antiimmigrant groups.

There is nothing in it for us. In-fact, if this bill passes, they are goin got apply the unused visa numbers towards FB, and we will lose any chance of re-capture, for-ever.
I think, we have a lost cause. The sooner we accept this, the better. We simply do not have the funds, commitment and political support that the illegals enjoy. We all know where the maximum nubver of FB immigrants are from, and they represent a big block of votes, since most of them happen to have the herd mentality, due to lack of education.
We, on the other hand, are educated, well read, tax paying people, who actually think about issues and merits of a person, hence no use to politicians.
Please, could you try and be a bit more positive. 400K illegal to legal or otherwise is a 400K vote if granted residency. Meaning you - a legal, educated and GDP contributor shall have more a chance to those less educated with menial jobs and no real standing on ways of life in this country or a positive contribution to true development. Being positive is half the battle won.

A lawsuit isnt the answer to everything. The chinese EB folks learnt that after spending thousands of dollars and few years on their lawsuit, the judgement they got back was that 'the law is being followed'.
