I don't know why but we tend to be satisfied with lsmall benefits...

But i bet you ..you will find your self in the same situation of agony and endless waiting for the final Green card.
I bet most of the people don't use your ead and AP as it puts you in a gray "Adjustment of status". They are good to have though. But you will see...how painful it is to decide to use them or not..
What i want to say is that being able to apply for EAD and AP is not the end of the battle..you will be stuck in a depressing situation waiting for the final green card.How do i know? .. I went through it...waiting for GC for the past 4 years.

I am not sure how can one call it "absurdity" if 200 calls spread over 12 lawmakers got 2 law makers from the CHC co sponsor all three bills. ?

I am not sure how the OP concluded that we are calling haphazardly. A lot of State chapters are talking with their rep's offices to get co sponsorship. If that's some thing of interest to you, work with your state chapter to see what they are doing in the chapter. I hope the OP would not say that calling a representative's office is haphazard.

More likely cause is that the letter from the applicant notifying his new job never reached/registered in CIS systems.
Did the person send the letter in time? Was there any intermediate change in status between NOID and actual denial status? This is crucial to know before jumping to conclusions.
It was received well within time. If they don't receive resonse to request for evidence; they specifically mention it in the denial.
right now; there is issue with on-line case status with uscis. Not always updating. This is not what it is.

I have been a member of IV for a long time. I think my only contribution is when I contributed a few times for some of the efforts. I come to this forum maybe once in a quarter just hoping to see some good news on the immigration side. I see nothing, feel bad about it and leave without doing anything. Every time I leave thinking that I should start contributing instead of being a useless lurker, but somehow that thought is the end.
My mistake and I apologize to the regular contributors here.
Anyways I am going to contribute now. I have set up a reminder in my calender for every other day to visit IV and discuss with other members about the next approach to take. I am also looking to contribute whether it be writing letters or taking part in rallies or speaking to lawyers about the spillover.
Again I apologize and I am looking forward to our next step towards ending our immigration woes.

This is good news..But the Damage is already been done..in the past.....
I guess DOL had some 300K cases pending when Backlog center started..It adjudicated some 150K till now.( Rough Estimate) and still 150 K left.
Even if considering 10000 Labors been substituted till now ...Imagine the wait period for rest of us. I wish this law was enacted, when they started Backlog centers..
Anyway..something is better than nothing....Hope for the Best...for new laws regarding SKIL,CIR Etc..atleast filing 485 when Visa numbers are not available..

It will still leave a door open for sellers to stay happy and able to substitute labor. However it is not easy to find a buyer of a LC in 45 days.
All these are small problems compared to retrogression. Labor substitution rule will not get any visible or any noticeable relief to us. We will continue to stay retrogressed and wait for another 10-15 years for our greencards. It is important for us to contnue to fight to end retrogression by getting a legislative change done. As long as members are there to support IV, the organization will use every means to get relief measures for all of us. The coming months are crucial to our struggle. We need to stay united and continue the effort of making this organization a formidable force on the hill. IV members writing negative comments on various forums or feel disheartened should know that to get even a smallest job done is not easy. They are not only harming the whole effort and making anti immigrants happy, but also harming themselves by hurting this cause. Sometimes it is sad to read such negatve comments when you know how hard it is to work with limited time, resources, manpower and lack of much needed motivation in members.
BTW In our recent efforts we did give anti-immigrants shivers down their spine. It can be seen from their posts on their sites and also the hate mails they write on our forum and send to core members. You dont see a lot of it because we moderate posts. We are not scared of anyone. All this has only made our resolve stronger to fight it out and fix the system.

US citizenship is a final stop for most/many immigrants. Post Sep 11, there has been a surge in nationalization applications because technically GC is like a long term visa to stay permanently. Therefore there is always a risk of losing GC because of DUI or other trivial or accidental issues etc.
Also post Sep 11, a lot of govt/sensitive projects that were available for GC only have been restricted to US Citizens. You lose a significant chunk of the available jobs market if you are a GC holder in the Maryland/DC/North Virgina area. In fact I know a lot of GC who kept their old passports but because of these hassles eventually decided for Naturalization.
Yes that is the one reason. Moreover i can get the Indian citizenship back by staying in India for 5 years on OCI card or PIO card. It is that simple. But Once i go back to India coming here is big problem. So I planned to take USC and Do an R2I later whenever i need or I want.
This week i became an USC after 9 years of stay in US. I can retain USC and stay in India. Came to US in 2000. Applied GC in 2002 Jan got the green card 2003 December with EB3

I am thankful to everyone who read or responded even if you don't agree. Taking it a step furthur there are couple of things that stand out which i think again show how we twist every fact to our advantage.
1) US need immigration to grow and prosper. wel agreed, but who are we to preach. Its for American to figure it out. We don't care for our mother land i:e India but we are first to point out how US will be worse off if it stops immigration. I really doubt the intention here. You know, we care more bout US then India and once we get our GC we probably wont care much bout US either.
>> You coward. This is a democracy and the constitution of US allows any one on the land of the United states to speak up and make their case with the US government. You dont need to be a citizen. You and your typical boot licking mentality. Not all of us are selfish maggots as you are and think only about ourselves. We do care about the US. Just dont think that every one is exactly like you in his/her attitude towards US. Preferences are different from caring. Just because one has chosen to immigrate to a different country does not mean that the person does not care for his/her motherland. My I-140 got approved even though my company also did not file 2006 Tax return. My company is a small(less than 30 employee) loss making company. Our company secretary just gave a letter that company has not filed tax return for 2006 and has asked for extension, attached request for extension. If you are meeting any one of the three criteria of the yates memo, there are very high chances of I-140 getting appoved. Search for yates memo and you will get more details. Is your current wages more than prevailing wages? If yes, then you will be fine. Your lawyer has do a very good analysis of companies ability to pay prevailing wages. So work with your lawyer and you will be fine.

I know Aman has made a no. of trips to DC & these are not cheap.
Let us all contribute to pay back all his trips .
I am serious about it as people have no idea what people like Aman & others have done / sacrificed. If fact, we should authorize the Money Manager of IV to immediately release the entire amount Aman & others have spent since 19th December 2005.
I am sure IV must have funds to handle this... if not, atleast start a part payment each month immediately

Illegal immigration has been a topic of heated debate and has received much needed attention during this election. In the midst of all the hype and bickering about ILLEGAL immigration, there is a group of people, often forgotten and ignored, who are caught up in a bureaucratic mess and yet are patiently waiting on the path to LEGAL immigration. This is a group of high skilled workers, most of whom have advanced degrees in medicine, engineering and science from Universities in the US. These people have obeyed all laws, worked hard, paid taxes and waited their turn, many for a decade, because of a system that is hopelessly broken and inefficient. I am one of these people and I have been in the US legally for 10 years and still years away from getting a green card. As the President of the United States how do you intend to address the problems faced by future Americans already living and working LEGALLY in the United States? Please note, this question is NOT about ILLEGAL immigration but about LEGAL immigration.

Let us try to get as many votes as possible from all the 25000 members . This is a good chance for all of us to get this issue out to the public. Please tell your friends and family who are not members on immigration voice, ask them to vote. This vote mayn't get us anything except a lame answer but atleast it will get us a big audience to hear our problem and also help us to differentiate ourselves from illegal immigration issues.
