I actually had to go and visit the URL to really make myself believe that someone can be this dumb. Well to each his own.
One thing I did notice was the comment "it is soon becoming the voice of rich and/or EB2 Indians only -- all other categories will either have no direct advantage with the efforts put in by IV, or they will actually see some negative effect from its activities. But that will be the case with any organization that claims to stand for a particular class. In reality, every core group will stand up for it and only itself."
Does someone care to explain this? I am EB3-ROW, I have occasionally donated and occasionally called but I don't think IV has ever HURT my case?

Guys, guess what I am holding in my hand? Yes, that bit of plastic, object of our fantasies �.and nightmares. After filing Writ of Mandamus on November 1st, things went amazingly quickly and smoothly: on December 1st, the US attorney gave confirmation that the case has been approved and I received the card in the mail on 12/07.
What did I feel then? Really indescribable�Happy? It goes way beyond that.
I feel more relieved than anything else, like if I had a ton of lead off my shoulders�
May my story inspire, give hope and faith to all of you guys who are so depressed at the moment because of what happened, or did not happen should I say, in that shameful Congress.
As you will see, I had my head in a brick wall more than once. More than once, I was devastated and, still, I never gave up and made it through.
So, please, enjoy the holidays: as long as there is life, there is hope.

I have a question. My Firm is a really small one, just 1 employer + my = 2. The tax returns are not so good, becouse all the money was invested in a second business. The firm started in June 2005. The Firm has ca. $65.000 in a saving account. My salary will be $2000/month. Will be enough this $65.000 for the USCIS, for the Ability to pay.

If you have secure permanent job with a solid Company,it is better to buy a home. I have a well secured job and I bought the house back in 2002. Home prices were less in 2002 compare to 2006.
But, if you are a consultant or working for a small company ,it may be better to wait till you get GC. But remember one thing, even if you get GC or Citizenship,if you loose your job and have a big mortgage to pay off,you will be in big trouble to make the monthly payment. This is true for even US Citizens !
But, if you are optimistic and ready to take some risk,you may be making some Good amount of profit in the future ! I was very optimistic and took some risk in 2002 and now I am in a Safer Side ! Think about it
Buying a house is a risky proposition on H1 specially considering the fact that if one is laid-off and needs to relocate within a short-time then one may end up loosing money. Besides getting into the hasseles of home maintainence is trouble-some and expensive and probably not worth the time and effort if one is uncertain about their future in this country.
Having said that if an individual is good at taking calculated risks and has a secure job then rewards are truly exceptional. I would rather wait atleast till the time of filling I-485 before making any long-term investments in this country. I know lot of my friends are probably going to do the same.

2. Retain all original copies of USCIS documents related to your legal status during the entire period of stay in USA, and shred all photocopies (except when you have a photocopy but not its original).

Is immigration a right? ABSOLUTELY.
Well, over the past few months we have heard a lot of sound bites like �Immigration is a privilege, not a right�. �We are a country of immigrants but we are also a country of laws.� We will see about that in moment when we look at history and find out how lawful immigration has historically been.
Let�s focus on one thing sorely missing from our community: The sense of entitlement.
A lot of employment based immigrants in this country, legally here, on H1, L1, J1 etc. have asked themselves, �What right do I have to ask for change in laws or relief from congress? I am not even a citizen. Lobby congress? As an alien? Are you kidding me? Do you want to get deported? Do you realize you are going �against� the Government?�
Therein comes the lack of sense of entitlement.
First of all, legally speaking, there is no distinction between the constitutional rights of citizens and the constitutional rights of those who are non-citizens � legal or illegal. (Non-citizens are also called �aliens�, but I refrain from using that word whenever I remember coz none of us look like characters of Star Wars and we are not green-headed animals with 6 limbs, so I don�t consider myself an alien just because I was born somewhere else on the same planet).
Second of all, as a person within the jurisdiction of the United States, the first amendment actually prohibits the congress from making any laws against stated rights � one of which is the right to petition the Government for redress of grievances. So not only its legal to do what we are doing, it unconstitutional to pass a law to make it illegal for us to petition (or lobby, advocate, litigate) government for a redress of grievances. Earned Right or Birthright?
The fact that you are here and you are here legally and working with the system to earn immigration is something you should be proud of. Not guilty of. I believe that not only we deserve fair and speedy immigration, but also when we do become citizens we should have the privilege to give two votes in elections. Now, I am not trying to display chutzpah here. I am going to back up my claim with reason. See, a lot of us came here 5-10 years ago with almost no money. Many of us never received any formal education in America. However, we have been able to survive and keep a job in this country, even during the stock market crash of 2001 and the economic recession after that. No small feat. We are the last ones to leave the office at night (Actually, that is true for both legal and illegal workers, coz the legal computer programmer is still coding Java at 7:00 PM while the illegal janitor starts vacuuming the office). We relocate across states as-if its relocating 2 traffic lights away. We adapt to different employers, we adapt to all employers. And all these without driving down the wages. Yes, it�s true. We don�t depress the wages and we don�t steal jobs and the labor certification is designed to prevent that and it�s working. We all know how great its working and how intense the process is, especially those who are stuck in Philly and Dallas backlog creation centers.
So, to sum it up, we have twice to right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, twice the right to everything. It�s an earned right, not a birthright. Our natural instinct should be to exercise the rights we have earned. If we cannot do it now, we are not going to really make anything out of citizenship of Greencard that we are pursuing.
And coming back to the sound bites about privileges and �Nation of laws� coming out of Washington today, let me say this: The pilgrims, who dropped anchor near Cape Cod in 1620 didn�t go through a port of entry and get their passports stamped and their I-94s stapled. I don�t think the Indians were waiting at the coast of Virginia to stop immigrants. They just came. And they settled. And they called it home. No priority dates. No visa bulletins.
So you see, what really matters here is whether you feel you are entitled to something or not. If you don�t feel entitled to a fair immigration process that does justice to those who seek legal ways to immigration, then you probably aren�t entitled. To ask for something, you must first believe that you deserve it. And to show that you deserve it, you must ask it loudly and clearly from rooftops. Don�t predict visa bulletins, but work to change and influence the visa bulletin 6 months from now. And no, you wont be deported for exercising that constitutional right.

Well, over the past few months we have heard a lot of sound bites like �Immigration is a privilege, not a right�. �We are a country of immigrants but we are also a country of laws.� We will see about that in moment when we look at history and find out how lawful immigration has historically been.
Let�s focus on one thing sorely missing from our community: The sense of entitlement.
A lot of employment based immigrants in this country, legally here, on H1, L1, J1 etc. have asked themselves, �What right do I have to ask for change in laws or relief from congress? I am not even a citizen. Lobby congress? As an alien? Are you kidding me? Do you want to get deported? Do you realize you are going �against� the Government?�
Therein comes the lack of sense of entitlement.
First of all, legally speaking, there is no distinction between the constitutional rights of citizens and the constitutional rights of those who are non-citizens � legal or illegal. (Non-citizens are also called �aliens�, but I refrain from using that word whenever I remember coz none of us look like characters of Star Wars and we are not green-headed animals with 6 limbs, so I don�t consider myself an alien just because I was born somewhere else on the same planet).
Second of all, as a person within the jurisdiction of the United States, the first amendment actually prohibits the congress from making any laws against stated rights � one of which is the right to petition the Government for redress of grievances. So not only its legal to do what we are doing, it unconstitutional to pass a law to make it illegal for us to petition (or lobby, advocate, litigate) government for a redress of grievances. Joke on Free-money-transfer was even highlighted in a movie. Its open secret as to how they offer free-money-transfer service.
I advise you to close ICICI account and open another account with Federal credit unions. Before you do that, ask if you could use their debit cards in India to with draw money from ATM machines. The conversion rate you get via this method matches with the current rate and you would loose nothng. However, you can only withdraw upto 25 thousand rupees per day.
ICICI deliberately delays the money transfer so that they can pick a day with lowest conversaion rate. Again the conversion rate they display on their site is off by almost a rupee from the live conversion rate.
All banks are well protected from laws and you can't do anything about it.

It is widely known fact that Members may be even reluctant to answer the same question again and again ... but unless a legislation is passed , PD will not move.
Fact is many of us are in a bad state for the options we have selected in our lives.
There is an organization like IV which is trying to help all of us. Infact IV members consist of people whose priority dates have been retrogressed for a long long time.
Also past 2 years (yes 2 years !!), some bills have been passed in only in Senate and hence fully did not become a law.
Hopefully something will happen and give us relief. My advise , don't forget to help IV where you can.

EVERY SINGLE ITEM on our goals benefits H4 spouses indirectly. Including the short term goals of IV.
Well what eb3_nepa and me are eluding to has no intention of superseeding the main agenda nor is it in anyway a distraction, it just the germination of an idea out of circumstantial frustration. Also if we truly belive what we are doing is right then there is no question of leaving this forum.
We all support the main agenda and also have a very positive attitude that we will see the light of a bright new day very soon. God willing we all will have our GC in 2 years or so.

USCIS is not allowed to send RFEs for the mighty Z visa applicants. All they need is a letter from friend saying they crossed the border before Jan 1, 2007 and they will get the Visa with in 24 hours.

Not true...
In the EB base, only 1 GC is counted for all family members. How can it count more than one if it is a derivative of an employment visa? It might count against the Family base even though primary applicant is EB-based. Not the other way around.
